Sneaker Hunt #2: QS Blue Lobsters

After being revealed only a week before its Initial Release: June 20th, the Blue Lobster Nike Dunk Low SB hit the scene causing jaw-dropping impressions. Similar to the Red Lobsters released a year ago, the Blue Lobster was released in special packing limited to the first 200 pairs at Concepts in MA. Now Available [or Soon to be] at all Quick Strike Nike SB Accounts, Hype has resulted in retailers to drive Retail up 40% to 70% of its original $92.00 box price. After making a couple of phone calls to Skate Shops within the Area, I was able to snag a pair for box at NJ Skate Shop III in Hoboken, NJ. Dudes are cool in there. Knowing me, I definitely took the 45-Minute commute to get there. (Detailed Photos Below)

How to Find Steals on eBaY# 2: Brian Andersons (BA’s)

I’ve come across another steal on eBaY. This time I was able to snag them up before another bidder did. (Mind you this 5 Day Auction only had 2 Bidders.)
This past week I was able to dig up a pair of Deadstock BA’s from eBaY. Yet again, similar to My First Post, the seller listed this specific pair of SBs incorrectly. There were errors in both, the ‘Item Search Name’ and ‘Size in the description’ from the seller.

When shoe collectors and sneaker heads hunt for SBs on eBaY they usually search by using keywords from the Edition Name from that exact pair. For Ex: If I were to look for a pair of BA’s in my size or for other sizes I’d search both, broad, by using keywords such as “Nike Dunk SB 11,” which would result in finding mostly all SB size 11 listings on eBaY, and/or by narrowing it down using keywords such as “Nike Brian Anderson” or “Nike Dunk SB Brian Anderson.” Each search method will help significantly when seeking a specific pair. But how did I find a pair of BA’s that easily averages between $180-$220 Deadstock FOR ONLY $92.00 w/ Shipping Included?

eBaY Auction Final Sale Price:
Photobucket

1.Sellers Error: It came down to the Sellers Item Name: The seller incorrectly listed this pair by not only stating they were Nike SBs but by not stating its Edition “Brian Anderson.” As a buyer, these errors, give you the advantage, as stated in Post #1, which lowers the market price by almost 50%.

Item Title:
Photobucket

Correct Method: The correct way to List a Pair of BA’s is as follows:
“Nike Dunk High Pro SB Brain Anderson Size 11” – This would have easily appeared in most, if not all, the search listings when being sought out for. (these is a key tip when selling: Using the Correct Item Name.

2.Feedback and Guarantee:
As an experienced eBaY user, I confidently bid on this pair because of the Users Feedback and 100% Guarantee in the Listing. Key factors in making my decision.

Feedback:

3.Pictures provided by the Seller: Using NSB.org’s LEGIT CHECK FORUM I knew that this pair of BA’s were Authentic Nike SBs. It is all about ones knowledge and the Sources one uses in the sneaker Community. (Take advantage of the available Sources out there.)

Knowing that there are sellers out there who list items incorrectly, I searched using keywords “Nike Dunk”; yet broad, it allowed me to find eBaY Listings such as the one from above. (Having extra $ in-hand is essential when hunting down steals!)

Closer Look #1: Nike Dunk High SB "Gucci"

The “Gucci” Nike Dunk High SB possibly, if not, the MOST anticipated release of 2009 has hit the scene with more detailed pictures. It’s simple yet sophisticated red green color-way topped with a crisp denim around the shoe has all sneaker collectors, heads, connoisseurs mavens, everyone and basically anyone, who lays eyes on this December QuickStrike, even me, acting eccentric! This 2009 sample compared to the 2005 sample has changes that are easily noticeable ranging from it's cleaned up denim stitching along the edges to a newer more jam-packed tongue. Check the detailed pictures below; [provided by Revive Magazine's Blog.

Sneaker Hunt #1 – Half Cents and Jordan 1 Hares

After missing the initial release back on March 7th, 2009, due to being in Storrs, CT at the University of Connecticut, my hopes in finding a pair at the Original Box price of $190.00 completely vanished. This hybrid of the Air Penny and Air Foamposite Model sold out instantly at all Major Retailers and E-tailers across the US making them extremely hard to find unless you paid the Hypebeast resale price between $300.00 and $350.00. Surprisingly, a week and a half ago, after randomly walking around in Elizabeth NJ I was able to find a Sneaker Spot who received a small Re-Stock Shipment. Though the money wasn’t in hand at the time, I was able Convince them to allow me to put them on a 3-Day Layaway and Snag them up.

For an Extensive Review of the 1/2 Cents Hybrid: Click Here!

Retail: $190.00
Release Date: March 7, 2009
Model: 1/2 Cents

How to Find Steals on eBaY #1: Purple Pigeons

Ever wonder how to find steals on eBaY? It takes patience and the ability to search using keywords. The steals themselves come from sellers who incorrectly list their items most of the time by what the seller states in the title. When sellers do make these mistakes, buyers tend to come away with anywhere from 20% to a 75% mark down of what the market price would be. I will show an example below of an anonymous ebay listing. (Buyer and Seller kept unidentified for discretion purposes)

Example:
Shoe Name: Nike Dunk SB Low “Purple Pigeons” Size 11.5
Market Price: $200 - $240 Deadstock, $140 - $180 USED (Depends on Condition)

Picture 1 (Click to Enlarge):
Photobucket
As you can see the seller the Title is listed as follows:
“Nike Dunk Low Pro SB LT Graphite/Prism Violet SZ 11.5”

(Tip 1) ERRORS in Listing
Problem: Seller makes the Mistake by not stating the Edition of this Specific Pair of Dunk SBs. Seller Should have stated “Purple Pigeons” instead of the colorway in the Title not the Subtitle.
Results: Item sells for ONLY $75.00 Shipped (Meaning minus shipping and Seller fees (Paypal and Final Value Fees) the seller would only end up pocketing around $45-$50)

(Tip 2) FEEDBACK

Buyer:
As a buyer when you come across a listing that has incorrect keywords similar to this example you should always look for the Sellers feedback. In this case the Sellers feedback is indeed 100% Positive and well over 200. Feedback is extremely essential since it demonstrates the Sellers eBay history and gives you an idea of how each transaction went.

Picture 2 (Click to Enlarge):
Photobucket
(Tip 3) READ THE DESCRIPTION - Look for Guarantee:

Another key aspect would be the description. You should NEVER purchase a pair of Sneakers or any Item in general without reading the Description. The Description is extremely key, it states specific detail about the item. Such as, Condition, Style, Payment, Shipping, etc. The Reason why I pointed this out is because as Buyer you should always look for a GUARANTEE from the seller. When a seller guarantees you something and it so happens to be the item you’ve purchased does not abide buy the Guarantee, you’re basically given a refund automatically.

Picture 3 (Click to Enlarge):
Photobucket
(Tip 4) DO YOUR RESEARCH!

Buyer: the pictures provided are small but are TAGGED. Tagged Pictures show that the Seller has the item IN HAND. As a Buyer on ebay you should always do your research before buying items that are easily counterfeited in today’s world. The Box in the picture after knowing what an authentic bow looks like clearly shows its legitimacy. There are a lot of sites that provide you with Legit checks and So on. For Example: Nike-SB.org

Seller Mistakes: As a seller you should always list clear and high quality photos of your items. There are plenty of Image Hosting Websites that allow you to do this. (Example: www.Photobucket.com) This makes it easier for buyers to look for authenticity. Key angles When Selling Sneakers would be: Left, Right, Toe Box, Heel to Search for Heel Drag, Bottom, Box and of Course a picture of the Inside Tag. (Don’t forget to Tag the Pictures with your Ebay Username)

The buyer who won this pair knows he/she got away like a bandit. I wish I would have known about it. It is all about searching on ebay. There are tons of listings out there with these similar mistakes. It helps when your searching for a pair and do not want to spend the ridiculous Market Price for it. So GO out and take advantage of them BECAUSE I KNOW I WILL!!!
